MADE FOR LIFE.
Our initial concept development for the AW22 still life shoot - where we aim to create complimentary studio based still life content to sit alongside the main Tessuti Autumn campaign - 'Made For Life'. We opted to create one succinct and strong set execution for the still life, taking the key themes, colours and textural details from the wider concept of 'bringing the outside world of nature, inside'.
However, there are some interchangeable elements that we will switch out for the varying tribes/brands. Our thinking here is that no matter what is on the main banners of the site, the still life will always tie in and work with it, creating that consistent and premium look and feel, always.
We explored the Tessuti 2022 Autumn/Winter deck and extracted the seasonal campaign elements, including the use of orange, textures, moss and the use of projections and terrariums and then highlighted the key differences across the tribes. Water and rust for Classic, leaves and marble for Luxury and moss and a weathered concrete/rust for Lifestyle. We aimed to balance all the campaign elements in one set-up with subtle switches that will tie in the different tribe details.
THE VISUALS_
A mock-up of how the set will look with footwear across both the classic (water) and luxury (leaves) executions. Instantly the top one feels more transitional - as it's heavy on the green - whilst the bottom one feels a lot warmer, for a true orange, autumnal look. The terrariums work equally as well across the two. The visuals also show the layered approach to the textures with the platform and tray. There's many elements at play but keeping them constrained like this offers a cleaner execution - we want to steer away f rom it looking too cluttered and busy. The wider set is boxed in using the printed backdrops.
THE SET_
Building and designing the custom terrarium was a super hard part of the process. It needed to have the distinctive shape, but also be large enough to hold the products and probs. We started the design process with good old pens and paper. The classics glass and metal frame was going to really hard to produce in the time frame we had. We opted for edge lit perspex which had to be custom cut and hand glued. The Perspex would still give the reflections of glass, and the edge lit element created a frame with in the shot without being as obstructive as a think dark metal frame from a classic terrarium.
